You might be surprised when the scales after a long winter. Can increase a person's weight during the winter because winter encourages a person to overeat.

1. Eat more carbohydrate for seasonal depression
If the cold weather when you crave foods that contain carbohydrates such as pasta, cakes, pastries, and other foods, you may be experiencing Seasonal Affective Disorder or SAD. SAD condition known as depression or feelings of frustration that is affected by the change of seasons.
When a person feels depressed, more fair if he wanted food that contains carbohydrates. Various studies have shown that the brain will produce a feeling of happiness when you eat a diet high in calories and fat.
To prevent weight gain as seasonal depression, eat more foods that contain protein rich in omega-3 fatty acids, such as salmon. Omega-3 has been shown to control the mood and energy boost, while the protein will give effect to full and satisfied longer.
In addition, to overcome depression and prevent excessive carbohydrate consumption, researchers at Yale University have recently discovered that the things that warm the physical, such as a hot bath or a hot drink, it can make people feel happier and reduce loneliness.
2. Eat more quickly due to the lack of light in winter
The researchers found that people consume on average more than 86 calories per day in winter compared to summer. A 2005 study published in the journal Nature found that the pattern of food intake varies from season to season, as well as weight.
In the winter, the participants also eat a lot of fatty foods seem to be more and more physical activity reduces the influence of the cold weather to make people lazy to exercise. According to researchers, it is influenced by the lack of lighting in the winter.
