Samsung Ready to Show off "Display Bent" for Mobile

Samsung Display, a subsidiary of Samsung Electronics, is rumored to be showing a flexible display in the exhibition Consumer Electronic Show (CES) to be held in Las Vegas, USA, in early January 2013.

Flexible display technology is generating the kind of screen that can be bent. Later, maybe a screen that uses the technology will be used in televisions or smartphones in the future with a radical design concept.

Visitors to the exhibition CES 2013 will get to watch a pair of display panels from Samsung. The first is a flexible screen measuring 5.5 inches with a resolution of 1280 x 720 (267ppi) is designed for smartphones. In addition, Samsung also will exhibit a 55-inch screen size for television.

According to information from Samsung is quoted by Cnet, the company's flexible display can be bent without breaking, but it can not be rolled up.

Besides making the main material of the flexible display, the creators must also make touchscreen panels and cover layer into a single unit on the screen.

Samsung itself has developed a flexible display for some time. At CES in 2011, electronics manufacturers are on the rise this demonstrates a similar screen size smaller, 4.5-inch, with a pixel density of 200 ppi.

With the model "crooked screen" larger size which will be showcased at CES 2013, Samsung is apparently trying to keep the design screen in order to stay up-to-date with mobile trends.
